At a distance of seven Kms from Chennai Central Railway Station (situated in Anna Salai Street), Thousand Lights Mosque is a widely known worship place for the Muslims of Chennai.
Constructed by the Nawab of Arcot within the 1880’s, the mosque is legendary for its structure, historic and non secular significance. In early 19th century, the place the place the mosque presently stands was once the meeting place of Muslims throughout the month of Muharram. Later, the meeting corridor was constructed, following which the mosque was constructed.
In-built an space of three acres, the land was donated by Nawab Wallajah. The typical top of the minarets is round 64 ft above the bottom. There’s a foremost corridor on the floor ground to supply prayers for males & girls individually.
