At a distance of 56 Kms from Kanyakumari (about eight kms from Trivandrum-Kanyakumari freeway), Pechiparai Dam was constructed through the days of the Maharaja Sri Moolam Thirunal throughout the river Kodayar.
The development of the dam was designed on the sample of the Periyar dam within the Madurai district. The size of the dam is 425.1 mts. It has a catchment space of 204.eight sq.km.
