At a distance of 20 km from Rameshwaram (about four km from Mandapam), Kurusadai Island is an uninhabited Island lies to the west of the Pamban Bridge between the mainland and Pamban Island. About 10,500 sq. kms of the ocean round right here represent a Marine Biosphere, a paradise for Marine Biologists and nature lovers.
There are many coral-reefs and fishes. It’s also possible to see dolphins and sea-cows (Dugong). A particular permission from the Director of Fisheries, Chennai is required to go to this Island.
