Anirudh Ravichander is an Indian Film Composer, Singer, and Actor who predominantly works in Tamil and Telugu Films. He made is debut in the Tamil Film Industry while he was 21. In his first song “Why This Kolaveri Di” for the film “3“, Anirudh Ravichander became so famous overnight as the song went viral across the globe breaking records and holds 100 million views on YouTube. He has composed a lot of blockbuster hit songs and now prevailing as one of the most popular Music Director of South India with a huge fan base. Anirudh Ravichander is the son of the actor of Ravi Raghavendra and classical dancer Lakshmi Ravichander. S. V. Ramanan, his maternal grandfather is a multi-talented personality who has proved his work in making documentaries, commercials and music. Anirudh’s great-grandfather is director Krishnaswami Subrahmanyam, a superhead filmmaker of the 1930s. He did his schooling at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, K.K. Nagar and graduated from Loyola College, Chennai in 2011 which he pursued just as a backup in case he fails in his music career.
He started composing music at the age of 10 and he was a part of a band in school named Zinx. He made his debut as a music composer in the film “3” directed by his cousin Aishwarya R. Dhanush, starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. During his degree, he had played background scores for the short films made by Aishwarya. In early November 2011, the leaked version of the song “Why This Kolaveri Di” began spreading online, which then was officially released by the team on 16 November 2011. YouTube honored the video with a “Recently Most Popular” Gold Medal award and “Trending” silver medal award for receiving a large number of hits in a short period of time. Recently he released a single named Julie for the singles on Valentine’s Day for which the lyrics were written by Vignesh Shivan.
