At a distance of 16 km from Yercaud Bus Stand, White Elephant Tooth Rocks are two white rocks situated close to Yercaud in Salem district of Tamil Nadu. The spectacular rocks are believed to be the leftovers of a meteorite fallen to the earth centuries in the past. In contrast to the black granite seen on this hillside, the rocks are purely white in colour and look charming.
The larger rock is situated on the southern a part of Shevaroy hill aspect close to Gundur and the opposite one is within the east overlooking the Ghat street, above the 60 ft bridge. The bigger one subsequent to Gundur has two rocks about 120 ft excessive and consists of pure white quartz. These are seen from Tipperary Viewpoint. Simple to climb up however arduous to climb down as the fabric is gentle and crumbles beneath your ft.
The larger rock will be reached by trekking from close to street level near Gundur village which might take about 2 hours to go to and from there one other 1 hour to the ghat street, from which one may catch a bus to Yercaud or Salem. The Smaller one will be reached from 60 ft bridge from Tipperary Property which might take about 1-2 hours’ time.
