He is an member of Maharashtra Legislative Council and also served as member of Zilla Parishad . Earlier Amol Mitkari was associated as a spokes person and member of Sambhaji Brigade. He is state general secretary of Nationalist Congress Party and was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council on 14 May 2020.
