Positioned at a distance of 1 Km from Chennai Central Railway Station (close to native Fort Railway Station), Fort St. George was constructed within the 12 months 1640 by the British East India Firm, underneath the supervision of Francis Day and Andrew Cogon. The Fort has a 20 toes thick wall. The flag employees at this fort is the tallest in India with a peak of 150 ft.

St. Mary’s Church – St. Mary’s Church, inside the Fort St. George, was established in 1680, and it is without doubt one of the oldest church buildings in India. The Fort Museum – The Fort Museum situated inside Fort St.George is a big repository of arms and armaments of British period. The museum displays a variety of artifacts like, Weapons, Canons, Shields, Uniforms, Manuscripts, Work, Letters, cash, medals, and many others.
